Pure Noise – Review

Pure Noise

(Noise)
by Scott Hefflon

Seventeen bands play 72 minutes of various genres of metal on the Pure Noise compilation. To do a track-by-track would take forever, and CDs from each are to be released this year (I thought they said 16?). Six of them are biggies, having already released albums in the U.S.: The Obsessed, Kreator, Coroner, Celtic Frost, Voivod, and Helloween. The other eleven range in status on the European front and will debut in America on Noise. Consider yourself warned. Each new band has a little blip written about them inside the CD, in case you’re curious. (My insert was littered with typos, but that’s what you get with advance materials. Hopefully somebody will notice before the general public sees it.) The bands range from various progressive types of metal, classic Sabbath style, hardcore, rap/metal, powermetal to just plain heavy music. Best of all, this compilation only costs ten bucks.
