Drop City – A Revolution of Purely Private Expectations – Review

Drop City

A Revolution of Purely Private Expectations (Shake)
by Jeff Fritz

Radio-friendly grunge folk with a touch of psychedelia thrown in for the benefit of the once-again-vogue drug culture (that means all you “alternative” dickheads who show up at NORML benefits when you wouldn’t even stay in the same room when dope was smoked in the ’80s)… Beautiful guitar overlays, and the lyrics and song titles are clever even if the vocals are blandly catchy. During the stranger tracks, we glimpse the creativity that is their saving grace and keeps them from sounding like just another indie-pop band. .
