While not quite as vocally-distinctive as New Zealand’s Gin Wigmore, Aussie pop powerhouse Missy Higgins is a force of nature to be reckoned with. “Hello Hello” showcases a sultry blues coo and a bright pop singalong fingersnap with no need to show-off. Straight pop songwriting, bold yet not demanding songbird qualities: A pleasant song on the radio, with no throat-catching teen gush or range-stretching shrieks of diva one-upsmanship.
