Carbon 14
Down
by Rich Romaine
There must be something in the water up in Maine. Maybe it’s that there’s nothing in the water. Purity. Clarity. Of the few bands I’ve heard from Portland, all seem to be thoughtful, introspective, and more interested in making heartfelt music than being harder/faster/louder than everyone else. The obvious categorization is going to be progressive post-grunge rock. Like, say, Portland’s Twisted Roots? Carbon 14 is mellower, more acoustic, but just as solid.
