Heavens to Murgatroid – Cyclop Pop – Review

Heavens to Murgatroid

Cyclop Pop (Play Hard)
by Clarendon Lavorich

Well, it’s fun, happy… kinda like a beefed-up Partridge Family. Heavens To Murgatroid has cornered the power pop style, and now wears coats made from its pelt. There’s nothing special about Cyclop Pop (Play Hard), but I guess that’s not supposed to matter. If a lot of people (i.e. the majority of college students) don’t want to think about their music too hard, and just want to party to a soundtrack from the feel good hit of the Summer (choose whichever applies to your care-free life), Heavens To Murgatroid wll shoot to the top virtually overnight, especially if they keep doing things like covering Kiss’ “Beth” in an upbeat, powerpop kind of way.
