It seems that one of our freelancers has decided to take matters into her own hands, and start up a ‘zine of her own. Four Dollar Hat is devoted to punk rock, and interviews Swingin’ Utters, Descendents, A Mercy Union, and The Dreadfuls. There are also the usual music reviews, rants about sellouts, etc. The things that stand out, though, are the quick asides (space filler?); Top Ten Lists, Obituaries, a center spread rating bands by hedonism quotient, and something called “The Groupie Report,” which is basically rock stars that Val and Karen want to fuck. Overall, it’s not a bad ‘zine. Good luck, Val. The music biz sucks.
