ManBreak
Come and See (Almo Sounds)

The easiest way to review an album is to drop an analogy and flesh out the rest of the paragraph with pretentious wordplay. Conversely, this is a disservice to any band that has worked hard to cultivate a unique sound and style. ManBreak, however, has left me no choice but to line up the usual suspects and start pointing fingers. For starters, there’s an amalgamation of Primal Scream and Kula Shaker, sans the Eastern influence of the latter. In fact, if John Squire had known how many mediocre bands would sprout in the wake of the Stone Roses, he would have trademarked the prefix “Brit.” Britpop, Britrock, Britblueprint – it’s all applicable to Liverpool’s ManBreak. ”
