My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult – A Crime For All Seasons – Review

My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult

A Crime For All Seasons (Red Ant)
by Angela Dauthi

It’s always amazed me how much of a reputation these guys have with so little to back it up. I mean, I understand and agree that “Sex on Wheels” is a great song, but what else have they done, really? Half-assed songs about sex and death, mostly. A Crime For All Seasons is no different. What’s surprising though, is the lack of production. My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult has been around for years. They should know what they’re doing in the studio. So why is it all so thin? Here, let me turn up the volume. Nope. Still nothing substantial. What if I crank the bass? No, now I’m just hearing the bassline more. The whole album is simply empty. Look, if you want sex, listen to Lords of Acid. If you want violence, try Transmisia. But if you want what amounts to kindergarten kitsch, try the Thrill Kill Kult. Sorry, guys. The illusion has faded.
