Kittie
(Ng)
by Scott Hefflon
Kittie is a breath of fresh air in an angrier-than-thou biz. Like The Donnas is/was to punk, Kittie bring youthful exuberance (the gals are 15-17, or so I read in an overpoweringly-perfumed issue of Spin) to a genre that speaks to angry youth. Unlike old-timers (like Ozzy, Priest, Rage Against the Machine, and Korn) trying to speak the language of a younger generation, Kittie is of the generation. And while their chops are unrefined, that’s part of the charm.
