Big D And The Kids Table
The Gipsy Hill EP (Fork In Hand)
by Scott Hefflon
I like ska punk about as much as a cold sore, but Big D And The Kid’s Table are fun and energetic and they hung in there long after ska punk became unfashionable, so ya gotta give ’em credit for sticking to what they believe in. Recorded at The Outpost in Stoughton with Jim Siegel, the bass sounds great, the horns clear and right up front, and while the singing alternates between shiny, snotty fake-Brit snarl like every shit punkpop posterboy band and yelpy The Bouncing Souls-style, fuck, that stuff has it’s place.
