For someone who has never even seen the comic, The Crow, I found the storyline of the movie easy enough to follow and pretty entertaining. Although it would have been difficult to disappoint me since I have no predisposed ideas, and to be honest with you, I was initially only interested in checking out Brandon Lee. But I was easily sucked in when I realized it was a love story. I was really impressed with the idea of someone returning from the dead to avenge their lover’s brutal death. It was strangely romantic in a sick, tragic sort of way, and I found myself wondering if a guy would do this for me. Highly unlikely. It had all the elements of a modern day action/drama film including, extraneous characters and an ending that can be predicted about halfway through the movie. Even with the truly corny ending, I found The Crow entertaining because of the constant flashbacks to their heartwarmingly perfect life before the gruesome double-murder. I love that sappy stuff!

Strangely enough, I found myself focusing on the music during the slow parts. If nothing else, go buy the soundtrack.
