Adam Ant – Wonderful – Review

Adam Ant

Wonderful (Capitol)
by Chris Adams

Adam Ant‘s unique vision still spans from the sublime to the ridiculous. The best moments are the semi-acoustic, jangly ballads (“Won’t Talk That Talk,” “Image of Yourself”) and “Angel,” a booming, grandiose affair that Scott Walker would give his right lung for. The album’s patchy, but worth picking up, if only for the kooky lyrics. Check out Adam’s take on enlightenment: “Call it Zen or call it Buddha/Inner peace or heavy banana.” Amen.
