Pretty Mighty Mighty – Ugly – Review

Pretty Mighty Mighty

Ugly (Burnt Sienna)
by Rich Romaine

This full-length debut may be noisy, but it’s not ugly. Well-crafted indie pop that uses soothing harmonies, swaying grooves as well as choppy timing and bursts of discordant guitars. Ethereal and abrasive. They use violin as a full-time instrument without it seeming an afterthought. It’s blended nicely except when it’s supposed to cut through like a school boy meanie’s fingernails on a chalkboard. If you dig the Dambuilders, you’ll dig Pretty Mighty Mighty.
