Stickmen

I had listened to the Stickmen‘s new three-song tape and thought it was pretty cool, but I had no idea about what to expect from these guys live. What I saw can be described in two words “Fuckin’ Sick.” I mean, these guys groove. They are “Purveyors of the power grooves.” Steve and Andy Demirgran rock the house on vocals and guitar respectively while Psycho, the bass player, truly lives up to his name for he truly goes nuts. Drummer Shawn Mullen is no slouch either. He played his vicious beats to a crowd that was either stoned or wasted. I mean, I’m not putting down the show, but the crowd sucked. Half the crowd was drunk and kept lingering around the pit acting like a bunch of wasted shits. I’m straight-edge and have come to the conclusion that all shows should be all ages. You could actually get a good pit like the Stickmen deserve. The people who want to drink can stay on the outside instead of wandering around in the pit and getting themselves hurt (or losing their precious beer) by those truly into the music.
