These days have been tough for the Cannibal Corpse camp, having lost their primary source of notoriety, vocalist Chris Barnes. Admittedly, new recruit George Fisher (formerly of Florida death metal powerhouse Monstrosity) is a better vocalist than Mr. Barnes, but the band has opted for a more Slayer-like approach which has resulted in the loss of the powerful grooves they previously employed. This makes Vile a hard, if not completely original, listen. Should have stuck to your guns, boys!
