Lint – Cold Scene – Review

Lint

Cold Scene (Plumb Records)
by Alan Boone

This one’s sort of a compilation. At least, there’re so many different people on these tracks, it’s hard to define who’s in the band at any given moment. There are appearances by Denise “Milkmoney” Monahan with her “I wanna be Courtney” vocal style, as well as Seana “Syrup USA” Carmody singing sweetly in French, and Mona “Spore” Elliot throwing in her two nickels, among others. Lint is the epitome of alterna-rock, and does just that – they play straight ahead rock (although the intro to “Liquor Ball” is pretty unexpected) without too much variation. Solid, dependable, Lint is an all-around companion, whether you want enraged scream-alongs or drunken acoustic musings.
