Electric Frankenstein – Fractured – Review

Electric Frankenstein

Fractured (Cargo)
by Jon Sarre

Super-high octane NYC punk rock, that’s all there is. Minimal overdubbing, minimal changes, no room for art or any of that shit. This release is only an EP, six songs – two covers (a slowed-up version of the Dead Kennedy’s “Your Emotions” and a nifty take on the Dictators’ “Borneo Jimmy”), buzzsaw guitars alternating ‘tween bein’ buried in the mix and hangin’ out in front, bass and drums damn near close to perfect, a snarly singer you could almost picture takin’ a swing at you durin’ a Rangers game – kinda a New Yawk Hank Rollins circa Damaged, minus the lisp. This band is on the ascent as far as the gutter punk press is concerned and they’ve gigged with the Candy Snatchers, so there’s the frame to stick the picture in. Worth a looksee.
