Bolt Thrower – Honour-Valour-Pride – Review

Bolt Thrower

Honour-Valour-Pride (Metal Blade)
by Paul Lee

Head for the bomb-shelters ’cause Bolt Thrower are back to blast the world with their war-metal weaponry! They sound as inspired as ever, and have just a hint of musical growth in their tales of war and carnage. Though Colin Richardson’s production on past epics was good, Andy Faulkner’s production has given new life to a sound that seemed doomed. With new vocalist Dave Ingram (ex-Benediction) joining the ranks, the roar is about the same, but it’s nice to see a slight change in the throat department.

Rest assured, Honour Valour Pride contains the pure, groove-based grindcore that Bolt Thrower has been serving up since 1989, but with more focus and finesse. For those in need of a destructive sonic fix, here’s one of the best collections of war epics since …For Victory.
