We Came As Romans grow up on new album

We Came As Romans’ highly anticipated sophomore album, Understanding What We’ve Grown To Be, is now available in-stores (Target, Best Buy, Hot Topic, independent retailers and more), and online (iTunes, Amazon, MerchNOW and more).

Musically and lyrically, Understanding What We’ve Grown To Be is much darker than the band’s debut full-length album, To Plant A Seed, taking We Came As Romans’ signature energetic and heavy, orchestral-infused sound to the next level with more intricate instrumentation and the finely tuned juxtaposition of the gut-wrenching explosions of David Stephens’ screams and the smooth croons of singer Kyle Pavone. We Came As Romans is comprised of Stephens, Pavone, Joshua Moore (lyrics, guitar), Lou Cotton (guitar), Andy Glass (bass), and Eric Choi (drums).

As We Came As Romans’ exquisite cover art foreshadows, the album moves from dark to light and chronicles an ongoing journey of realizations, segueing from their perpetually positive views, into a more complex and realistic outlook on life. The cover artwork was done by artist Paul Romano [Chiodos, Mastodon], who also created the cover for To Plant A Seed.

Understanding What We’ve Grown To Be will be released internationally on September 16th in Europe, Russia, and South Africa (via Nuclear Blast), New Zealand and Australia (via We Are Unified), and in Japan on September 21st (via Triple Vision). The 12-track album was recorded with longtime friend and producer, Joey Sturgis [The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!] at Foundation Recording Studio.

We Came As Romans’ I’m Alive headlining tour kicks off today at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, MI.
