Mediterranean metallers Nightfall continue to push their brand of accessible black metal on their ninth album, Cassiopeia. One would be hard pressed to consider them strict black metal nowadays – as “Oberon & Titania” proves, these Greeks are much more comfortable in a traditional metal groove in 2013, with only hints of black metal sounds thrown into the mix. And it’s a very lively and interesting mix, with a hard rock swagger and a continuation of the themes of mysticism and astronomy their previous record, 2010’s Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants.
