EMN ’01 are a pretty cool cross between Tesla, L.A. Guns, Brother Cane, and Jackyl – not too, too Southern, but squarely on the roots/sleaze side of L.A.
If you aren’t cognizant of the growly/musclely buzzbombs these guys have been heavin’ since the mid-’90s, here’s the opportunity to blow this week’s beer money.
Another pie, another slice. The borrowed tune on this one’s a good one from the second Dead Boys album, “3rd Generation Nation,” done up with the zim and zigor.
Fourth gen glam-inbred rock and pretty goddamn uninteresting at that. Over half the record is sleepy, and the good tunes’d get their asses kicked by Extreme.
ZZ Top are my favorite band and I play their first five albums weekly. Five Horse Johnson is the only band who can make a week without spinning those LPs OK.
Hard and heavy first offering from a combo who sits between the orthodox post-Kyuss reality of groove-riding molten metal and regenerated kickass rock.
