Metal is alive and well and living in Europe. Americans futz with knuckledragging nĂĽ metal and ’til-you-grow-outta-it hardcore, European metal pushes forward.
Split (kinda) into power metal on disc one and extreme on disc two, tracked alphabetically per disc, there’s so much to open yer eyes, if yer at all into metal.
I’m digging the lion’s share of this thing, because it’s packed full of those shining-moment riffs that are the unanimous highlights of the past two albums.
If you follow these genres, most of these bands are familiar. They’re mostly the big names, with little “filler,” and omissions were probably licensing issues.
I interview rock guys two, three times a week. I use voice recognition software to transcribe these interviews. It doesn’t always come out as planned though.
Reminds me of the band concocted for Wayne’s World: Tia Carrere, the Marc Somethingerother from Keel, and a couple other guys who look like they’re in bands.
