I’m digging the lion’s share of this thing, because it’s packed full of those shining-moment riffs that are the unanimous highlights of the past two albums.
More like prog rock with dark melodies, with songs that are essentially energetic and full band, lots of moody pop, not a lot of long, boring passages.
The coolest moments are watching Ozzy do the lonely walk to his stage (you really feel the poignancy of his job), or seeing him sign autographs in a mental fog.
Explodes band-like, Michael Romeo measuring his attacks, Russell Allen the consummate vocalist. I’ve not heard better production/tones on a science rock album.
I interview rock guys two, three times a week. I use voice recognition software to transcribe these interviews. It doesn’t always come out as planned though.
