Epidemic – Exit Paradise – Review

Epidemic

Exit Paradise (Metal Blade)
by Paul Lee

Violence, societal decay, unrelenting power chords and a sound that would scare the knickers off of Ed Wood; Epidemic has it all. Destructo-core might be a good label for this fearsome foursome from Cali. On Exit Paradise (Metal Blade), they have the barbarity of death metal but with socially brutal themes and no Satanism.

What sets Epidemic apart from the rest of the death-pack are their time changes and over-the-asylum body-crushing chords. This is an album to be reckoned with. Of course, they do have their growling and gurgling singer, which makes them sound a bit like your average death band. But, if musical savagery and originality is your cup of poisoned tea, then you should consume Epidemic and Exit Paradise.
