With dork/host Conan O’Brien’s thumbs up for college band ’94, I wanted to hate them a lot. But damn, they’re wild! Before “College Rock” meant test marketing groups for the majors, it meant strange bands with strange styles. That’s exactly what Blightobody is, they combine guitar rock, pop sensibility, country twang, spaghetti western solos, and heavy, chugging guitars into humorous, well-produced songs. I can’t wait to hear a full-length.
