Mellow, electronic symphony of psychedelia creates an effect not unlike really good pot. Pure Phase has pieces involving over a minute’s worth of pure repetition of a musical idea, but manages to keep you guessing with plenty of free-form noise and dynamic breaks in the right places. A string section, harmonica, and various sound effects spice up their spiritual, lullaby rock ‘n’ roll.
