Bush – at the Paradise – Review

Bush

at the Paradise

Ugh, another band from England! But wait, I like this group. Meet Bush: Angered vocal power (slightly resembling Eddie Vedder) mixed with the sounds of early Nirvana, Candlebox, and a dash of Trent Reznor. Such fusion gives Bush a new and yet familiar sound that is sure to please pop enthusiasts. Although the guitar of Nigel Pulsford and heavy bass licks of Dave Parsons may be all too mainstream, combined with the enticing vocals and in-your-face lyrics of Gavin Rossdale, you will be happy that you took the time to check them out.

I did when Bush played a sold out show at the Paradise. Despite everyone having a nasty case of the flu, all members played a highly energized show to a volatile, voracious audience. “Everything Zen” is upbeat pop that will get your attention. You will be slowly moved to a point where you will suddenly realize that your head is bobbing and your feet are doing that oh-so-sudden tap tap to songs like “Machinehead.” Many bands come and go, but Bush will not go unforgotten.
