Come – String 10″ – Review

Come

String 10″ (Matador)
by Joshua Brown

The name gives us a less-than-subtle clue as to the type of sound they’re going for. In Come‘s quest for the musical orgasm, they trek among the grayer areas of human sexual experience, never giving us a convenient fantasy to consume, but instead taking us on a pain/pleasure ride that is all too real. String would make a cool instrumental EP even without Thalia Zedek’s strong, disillusioned vocals, which are the icing on the cake. There are two previously unreleased tracks here, along with two songs that appear on the new album.
