Total Chaos – at Club Babyhead – Review

Total Chaos

at Club Babyhead
by Andrew Berenson

There should have been a huge sign that read: WELCOME TO CLUB BABYHEAD, HOME TONIGHT TO 100 MOHAWKED PUNK ROCKERS AND BEREN (yours truly), YOUR AVERAGE SUBURBANITE.

Total Chaos took the stage at midnight, drunk as fuck and ready to rumble. They took the first 10 minutes of their set to make jokes about punk bands in California. When Total Chaos finally began to play, they totally rocked. Highlights included “Riot City,” “Unite to Fight,” and “Gomer Pyle.” Most of the songs were from their two Epitaph releases, Pledge of Defiance and Patriotic Shock. Rob Chaos sings with real power, and even though I couldn’t make out many of the lyrics, the man sings with passion. The only complaint I had was that inbetween songs Joe Bastard (the bass player) kept mooning the crowd. I mean, he weighs about 500 pounds and makes Tad Doyle look like Tattoo from Fantasy Island. Overall, Total Chaos were awesome, which is more than I can say for Joe’s ass.
