Most death metal acts read like a bad ’50s horror comic. Japan’s Zeni Geva are twisted artists (imagine Steve Albini forming a death band) and are twice as caustic and psycho as any group in the Western Hemisphere who thinks they’re scary. If you fancy extremely heavy music but find most stuff in the genre insulting, give Zeni Geva a try. It’s almost as though they know exactly what it’s like to die a slow and uncomfortable death and are re-experiencing it with the listener.
