There’s really a few choice cuts on Unusual Suspects, mostly live studio recordings (too bad all that on-air patter detracts from the flow of the music…).
Morrissey and Marr, as verbose, jocose and morose as any, reinterpreted by a gang of meat-munching, instrument-trashing, machismo-heavy hardcore bands.
Some of it is archaic “experimental” composition that’s more headache inducing than “trance” inducing. Illbient can be cool, but this is just too boring.
Pillaging the Carcass archives, Earache releases, while perhaps not a best of, at least an overview of Carcass’ nearly decade-long career of extremity.
