The Heartdrops

This is the Heartdrops (Melted)

Lilly took a chance and came to the Lollipop Gobble Gobble Hey! Show last November and got a surprise in the back room. Yep! Everybody fucked her. Bet you expected some trickery of word here rather than a floundering play on her flounder. She got it good, which just goes to show that everybody has a good time at Lollipop shows. Lilly was particularly amazed at the instruments sported by the Heartdrops, who gave us all a good one that day, too.

Lilly gyrated and flopped around in front of the stage as the Heartdrops, promoting their new (well… semi-new by the time I got around to this) self-titled album, reminded us all of what good old American rock is all about. The kind too many bands try to get right, and get boring instead, for the obvious reason of simplicity. There is no gimmick to hide behind. This rock is heartfelt, strong, and a stud in a flock of goats (don’t ask, I give up). Three fuckin’ guys with their sleeves rolled up and a fork stuck in their asses. Very comparable to the Turbo AC’s last release. Unfortunately, it is also the type of rock that may get lost in the wash because there is no immediate hook to feed those with little or no patience. This is the Heartdrops is a great driving CD. Wish I had a car. I can’t think of any more good things to say and these guys are from New York and could conceivably find me and kick my ass for saying bad things. They look tough on the album cover too (unlike you suckers from the Strike, who wrote back to the magazine and cursed me, I could kick all your asses, even the girl). Better stop before the feminists get me, that kind of trouble starts at home you know.
