In defense of Adam Duritz, there is a man who whines more than that dred-headed hero you all love to hate (blasphemers!), and does it way less convincingly. Jeremy Toback‘s Perfect Flux Thing, seems to be some kind of twisted Hootie/Dave Mathews Band/folk rock fantasy blown up into this huge, pathetic, unlistenable, blithering Robert Blye nightmare. Trampling and disgracing genres from folk to roots rock and roll, Jeremy Toback proves himself incapable of generating even the slightest inkling of interest in his Perfect Flux Thing.
