“Electronic pioneers” are often left in the dust (not the brothers), has-beens before they ever were. From the ashes of Clan of Xymox, these darkwavers are darker than The Church, but that ain’t saying a helluva lot. Sure, they use Dennis Hopper samples, but what self-respecting anti-anything band doesn’t? And the Goth pretension schtick wears pretty thin when the passion coursing through the melody is textbook, spider-scrawled or not.
