A release glowing with the hipster jaded giddiness of two scenester newlyweds, Bon Voyage is a trip through the enchanted fairyland of synthed-out babydoll vocals over moody stirrings of bass and the opiated euphoria of meandering guitar lines. Who’da thunk that young love could make me wanna stick my head in an oven? Saccharine sentiments under-emoted and over-produced – the songs themselves don’t really stand a chance. There could be people out there who would view this as camp or novelty, but those people are horribly, horribly mistaken.
