Hyperdex-1-Sect – Metachrome – Review

Hyperdex-1-Sect

Metachrome (21st Circuitry)
by Chris Best

I started off really enjoying this CD. It reminded me of staying up really late on a Saturday night when I was in high school so I could watch SNUB TV on the USA Network’s Night Flight. Metachrome has all the charm of late ’80s industrial. Unfortunately, the charm seems to wear off after a few songs and reminds me of a real bad night at a club. The kind of night where you smoke out of habit despite the fact that your lungs and throat are stripped raw, everyone looks butt, your jaw aches from all the dumb small talk but you can’t leave because your friends seem to be enjoying themselves, so you get drunk enough to feel the pain slowly morph into dizzy inebriation which turns into nausea, leaving you waking up in your bathroom (if you’re lucky) curled up around the toilet bowl. I guess it’s good in small doses though.
