Midget – Jukebox – Review

Midget

Jukebox (Sire)

While they seem to spend a lot of energy trying to convince people they aren’t punk pop, they really oughtta come to terms with the fact that they’re better at dippy, punky pop than, well, filtering the Beatles through too many Goo Goo Dolls records. While sure, we’ll all impressed with the sparse, whispery pop (Syd Barrett sings for Joe Jackson, and each blames the other for the song sucking), we have more than enough beat-up-able Britpop wankers in this world, and Elvis Costello really doesn’t need watering down, thanks.
