Pressure Point – Youth on the Street – Review

Pressure Point

Youth on the Street (GMM)
by Scott Hefflon

The first word is “Oi!,” and that sets the stage for the next 30 minutes of hard, rawkus, working-class punk about unity, the streets, and fighting for what’s yours. With songs like “Skinhead Justice,” “Youth on the Street,” and “Strength Thru Oi!,” you get the idea. It sounds like they’re pro-skin, but perhaps that doesn’t carry the negative connotation where they’re from. The record’s produced by Rancid’s Lars Fredericksen, so I trust we ain’t talkin’ no Nazi shit here. While not breaking new ground like The Dropkick Murphys (also produced by Lars), Pressure Point is a good band to blast at parties and on your way to shows.
