Christian Death – The Best of Christian Death featuring Rozz Williams – Review

Christian Death

The Best Of Christian Death featuring Rozz Williams (Cleopatra)
by Chris Best

Rozz Williams is dead – Let’s rape his corpse!! If this CD was released without the three remixes, I wouldn’t have made that remark. The alternate and demo takes of such classics as “Romeo’s Distress,” and “Skeleton Kiss,” are nice picks, but leave the fan little reason to buy this. The remixes of “Spiritual Cramp” (Mission UK), “Angels” (Laibach), and “Cervix Couch” (covered by One By One, remixed by Spahn Ranch) are great examples of corpse-fucking. All of them are uninspired, underproduced, boring, and downright shitty. It’s almost as though Cleopatra wanted to do a real tribute album and only got this crap. Calling this combination of originals, remixes, and covers a “Best of” and shoving it in the consumer’s face is downright insulting.
