Frenzal Rhomb – A Man’s Not a Camel – Review

Frenzal Rhomb

A Man’s Not a Camel (Fat)
by Scott Hefflon

Finally, a punk band you can’t summarize in two sentences, compare to a band or two, hit save, then forget completely about. Frenzal Rhomb are distinctive, fun, and, um, seem to have a thing for beer. Not in the yip-yoo way of hangin’ at titty bars and fighting anyone who looks at you cross-eyed (or any other way), and not in the jocko polo way (we all know too well what that is), and not in a gutter punk piss-swilling bitchy way. No, Frenzal Rhomb seem like well-adjusted, fun, energetic Aussies. Aside from that jovial chap, Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee and those Suburu Outback ads), my exposure’s kinda limited, but these guys sound like they’d be fun to hang out with, have a number of drinks with, and whistle at pretty girls with. Punk can still be fun, and it doesn’t all have to sound the same.
