A New Found Glory – From the Screen to Your Stereo – Review

A New Found Glory

From the Screen to Your Stereo (Drive-Thru)
by Scott Hefflon

Another theme/cover/tribute EP for yer summer enjoyment… This one’s done pretty well, sounding clean and showing a well-scrubbed new band that the kids’ll flock to like they did MxPx. While only a few of the songs have clever breakdowns or production tricks added, just hearing a really good freakin’ song played well, a lot faster than usual, is pretty cool. One movie I wish they’d dug into is Young Guns I or II, but that’s just cuz I’m a total fuckin’ dork. Songs covered: “That Thing You Do” (from the movie of the same name, duh), “Never Ending Story” (ditto), “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” (from Armageddon), “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough” (take a guess, genius), “The Glory of Love” (from The Karate Kid 2), “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” (from Robin Hood), and “My Heart Will Go On” (from Titanic).
