AP2 – Suspension of Disbelief – Review

Suspension of Disbelief (Tooth & Nail)
by Tim Den

Very daring and innovative. Hardcore roots exploring the possibilities of trip-hop, break beats, and ambient electronica. Not what I expected (the experimentation succeeding included). A bit of Ministry here and there, a tad of Tricky (though definitely not as mind-blowing), a pinch of Björk-with-heavy-guitars atmosphere, mixed all into a healthy balance. There’s some singing, some screaming, loads of beeps and keyboard effects… but never going overboard. This is the first of its kind that hasn’t been annoying, sickeningly cheesy, or cliché. This deserves recognition for its success in such a tricky venture.
