One of my pals who’s always been good with short, concise descriptions said that Germany’s Heaven Shall Burn sounds like a cross between Britain’s veteran grindcore act, Bolt Thrower, and the adventurous hardcore/noisecore of Shai Halud. With a detonating, almost catastrophic metallic groove, Heaven Shall Burn rides a wave of distorted mayhem and reckless visions, never giving the listener time to take a deep breath as the world comes down upon them. One of the best of 2002!
