Meshing together old school punk rock/hardcore with metallic riffs is not as easy as it seems, even though bands like Anthrax and D.R.I. made it look that way. In all actuality, when done incorrectly, it usually spells bad news. Luckily, Philadelphia’s Go! For The Throat have the right ideas and know how to make this style work. While far from the clever workings of older-era Anthrax and D.R.I., Go! For The Throat are doing just fine on tracks like “A Few Good Friends” and “Tecknowledgy.” As long as they don’t turn into a cheap-ass knockoff of pansies Sugar Ray, they can stay.
