Hatebreed – Perseverance – Review

Hatebreed

Perseverance (Universal)
by Adrian Bromley

Easily one of the best albums of 2002, Hatebreed‘s Perseverance is a solid kick to the face, a welcome dose of violent aggression that moves the ground like a 9.0 earthquake. Get crushed by first single, “I Will Be Heard,” and feel the intensity of “Bloodsoaked Memories,” the title track, and “Healing to Suffer Again.”

Imagine the school bully cornering you, his face two inches from yours, screaming for 38+ minutes non-stop. This is worse. Perseverance was five years in the making and it’s obvious by the reaction to this album that these hardcore heavies from Connecticut are here to stay. Run for cover!
