Friends of Dean Martinez – On The Shore – Review

Friends of Dean Martinez

On The Shore (Narnack)
by Craig Regala

Roots, bloody roots indeed. If those roots are a ‘luded-out acid swoggled grit gunch take on roots forms from Tex-Mex avant – lounge zonerism, to good ole Neil Young, dropping by at slow core noir surf/desert rock (like their peers The AquaVelvets) and dippin’ some indie country waltz schmaltz along the way. This is the kinda laid back stuff I wanna hear when those worms in the bottom of the tequila bottle start to do their work. A good one. By pros who could do whateverthefucktheywantto and decided to follow their muse and stick with the day jobs so they could do this. Even if you don’t like the music, take that to heart.
