The Marlboro Chorus
Good Luck (Future Appletree)
by Evan Solochek
Mix bouncy acoustic guitar with sporadic piano bursts and folksy, yet poppy, falsetto vocals and you get an undeniably catchy album that you can’t help but tap your feet to. The Marlboro Chorus, which is essentially B. Patric with various accompaniments, combines a wonderful minimalist quality with some alt-country flavor that forces comparisons to Clem Snide. No song really stands out on the album as extraordinary, while at the same time, there are no regrettable songs either. Rather, Good Luck is a simply assembled collection of unassuming good songs.
