Cable – Never Trust a Gemini – Review

Cable

Never Trust a Gemini (Devil Doll)
by Craig Regala

Rock rock rock ROCK! Cable are a heavy rock band. How fuckin’ ’70s does that sound? But hellfire, they’re as contemporary as today’s herpes: Yeah, it’s been around, but in order to do so, it’s had to mutate to survive. Much like the more syrupy Fireball Ministry, these guys are rooted in classic Judas Priest, heavy, long hair, ugh-punk, and a little pickle named Failure, my new favorite band. So screaming is done, mid-tempos are used, acoustic guitars are bandied (as fattener, just like the Stones used to do before retirement age). Never Trust a Gemini is their best one so far: More tuneful, more cohesive, just… more of what made you part with (some) of your drug money.
