Funeral for a Friend – Seven Way to Scream Your Name – Review

Funeral for a Friend

Seven Way to Scream Your Name (Ferret)
By Adrian Bromley

The British have said for decades that North American bands have ripped them off, but now, as England’s Funeral For A Friend unleash their new disc (a combination of two UK EPs) we can pinpoint how these Brits copied an American approach to melodic hardcore. Not that I’m complaining, as FFAF is damn good at what they do, but it sounds a lot like the screamo/melodic hardcore that’s infiltrated the hardcore scene in the last few years. Late for the party? Perhaps. But they make a mark with the tracks “Red Is the New Black” and “Kiss and Makeup.”
