Amy Ray is/was one of the Indigo Girls. So she knows her shit, and even a mistep (a bad song, a bad album, a bad direction of experimentation) from Amy Ray is pretty good. I’m not prone to unwarranted fawning, but I respect people who’ve earned it. And she has, as has her label, Daemon. There are quiet moments here, hints of country, and some rockers. Couple former members of Team Dresch and Luscious Jackson contribute. I like the rockers best, but I have a lot of testosterone.
